We call it "Resting Bitch Face", but is it much more than that? I believe it is. This resting face, I believe, is our true self without trying to be happy, sad or angry. I am exploring the true look of others. The raw expression.
My painting reflects this desire to capture the raw expression of our human state. These paintings are done in a direct painting method or called wet into wet, one sitting. Each painting is done in about 4-5 hours, focusing on the in-between expression that looks back.

Each painting above is done in one sitting, also called direct painting, taking about 1-2.5 hrs. During this short painting session, my brush strokes push the qualities of what is considered finished.
